Today in Civil War History: August 20th
1862 - Horace Greeley's "The Prayer of Twenty Millions" was published. The editorial called on U.S. President Abraham Lincoln to declare emancipation for all slaves. Lincoln was already planning to emancipate slaves, but he did not admit it publicly until a month later with his preliminary Emancipation Proclamation.

First Post
Ok, I'll give this blogging thing a try. I've been inspired by some other blogs that I've seen and I hope to post at least once a day. I'm working on a number of things right now. Painting up 25mm ACW figures for my school club. A 1/72 scale WWII diorama, and a 1/35 scale WWII diorama. All in all, it's probably too much but I have a tendency to bite of more than I can chew : ) Should give me plenty to post about though.
